Bringing Singles Together

Like CWN on Facebook

The Prez Says --

“Single and looking for something to do?”.

Snowshoeing, skiing, dancing, music, movies, book discussions, dining. Avoid cabin fever with fun activities. And looking ahead, stay tuned for Dance Lessons on Sundays starting March.

Read the Newsletter for the details and info about the fun events, and update your calendars with the 2020 CWN dance dates that are booked so far.

Be sure to attend the only CWN Dance in February on Saturday February 15, 2019 at the Moose. The dance will be preceded by a special dine out at the Moose at 5:00 p.m. - then the CWN Annual Members Meeting at 6:30 p.m. for election of the Board of Directors, financial reports, and any other info you need.

CWN is currently seeking additional individuals to serve on the 2020 CWN Board of Directors. As a CWN Board member you will have direct input into how the organization is run as well as an important vote on all CWN operations. 2020 Board members will elect officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) at their organizational meeting in February and are expected to serve on at least one standing Committee. Accordingly, prospective Board members should give some thought regarding desire to serve as an officer and potential Committee assignments.

As a volunteer organization, CWN relies on its members to step forward and fill these necessary positions – without you the organization ceases to exist. Please consider giving back to the Club by serving on the 2020 CWN Board and additionally as an Officer. If you are interested, please contact me.

Say yes to adventure.

Bring your own snacks and beverages. Saturday night we will do a potluck. I will bring a main dish of some kind and am open to suggestions/requests. Camping At Fire Fly Lake -
Friday, August 7, 2020

Fire Fly Lake Campground - Click for Google Maps Map
10269 County Hwy N
Boulder Junction WI 54512

After a very successful first-time camping weekend in the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest this year (2019), those who took part asked to have it repeated but possibly with a few extras…like hot showers!

For 2020, save the weekend of Aug. 7-9 for another camp out. We will be going to Firefly Lake Campground where there are hot showers and running water at a central building and pit toilets/hand pumps if you choose. There are no electric hookups in any of the sites.

Firefly has both reservable and drop-in sites. Your hosts (Floyd and Sara) will be roughly near sites 269/270, if you want to find a place close to the action. Reservations through WI DNR can be made up to 11 months in advance of the camping start date at https://wisconsin.goingtocamp.com/. This campground usually has open sites, but it is popular in August, so think about reserving early for the best locations.

Contact: questions to: Sara at 715-360-7253 or stbrede@gmail.com or Floyd at 715-680-1304 or floydkayakk@frontier.com.
